Open Dyslexic Bold Italic, adapted by Abelardo Gonzalez with additional letters, is a free comic display font with sturdy, forward-leaning forms. Its changing stroke widths, softly bowed edges, and deliberately uneven shapes give the lettering the lively look of marker-drawn signage, yet the broad bases keep each form visually grounded.
Cartoon illustration echoes its loose curves and offbeat proportions. That connection makes it useful for children's publishing, educational posters, game graphics, and informal packaging, where the lettering can become part of a drawn scene through speech bubbles, character labels, or playful signboards.
