Neuton by Brian M. Zick is a free serif font with stately capitals and compact lowercase forms. Broad, sharply cut serifs give the lettering a firm silhouette, and the marked stroke contrast recalls traditional publishing type without looking overly delicate.
Book covers and literary magazines benefit from its composed, editorial manner, yet the same strong shapes also suit restaurant branding and heritage packaging. Its most convincing role is in publishing, where the generous capitals and closely fitted lowercase letters can give titles and section headings the authority of established print typography.
