NovelloPro, designed by Ingo Zimmermann of ingoFonts, is a free high-contrast serif with tall proportions and a decidedly formal, literary appearance. Its finely drawn letters combine broad vertical strokes with hairline serifs, rounded forms, and generous proportions, recalling traditional book typography but with cleaner curves and a crisp, contemporary finish.
A historical novel cover is its clearest assignment. It also suits cultural event posters, classical music programs, and premium stationery, where its refined stroke contrast can shape a composed brand identity for publishers, arts institutions, or luxury paper goods.

Novello Pro is a Roman typeface with round serifs.
The design removes unnecessary traditional weight where possible. Its character forms follow traditional shapes, with short, round serifs attached to the letter bodies at right angles and alternating thick and thin strokes. It uses horizontal thin strokes and distinctive joins in the stems of a, b, d, h, n, m, p, q, r, and u. The usual curved transition of the upstroke from the stem is omitted, creating horizontal movement with emphasis on the right angle.
All fonts at ingoFonts are available as free downloads. However, the downloadable files contain only uppercase and lowercase letters from A to Z and a to z. The complete font, including numerals, umlauts, punctuation, and ligatures, is available only with a paid order.
