SF Avondale Cond Italic, designed by Derek Vogelpohl of ShyFoundry, is a free condensed italic display serif with dramatic thick-thin contrast. Its steep slant and towering narrow letters create a forceful, fashion-minded silhouette. Fine cross-strokes and needle-sharp serifs cut through the dark vertical strokes, keeping the design crisp rather than blunt.

Fashion magazine covers are its strongest use because the narrow proportions and Didone-like contrast lend them the drama of luxury editorial lettering, and it can also suit fragrance packaging and event posters. It speaks directly to fashion, beauty, and nightlife audiences drawn to sharp, dramatic lettering.
