Windlass Schriftart

Windlass by David F. Nalle of Scriptorium Font Library is a free eroded serif display font with the rough authority of old carved lettering. Its tall capitals have flared serifs, uneven edges, and strong shifts between broad and narrow strokes. The distressed contours feel cut by hand rather than mechanically worn.

It turns a poster title into a weathered tavern sign. That same hand-hewn quality suits historical game graphics, fantasy book covers, and labels for rustic food or drink packaging. It is most convincing when a project needs lettering that already resembles an aged inscription.
