SF Covington Exp Italic by Derek Vogelpohl of ShyFoundry is a free high-contrast italic serif with broad letterforms, long sweeping curves, and the poised slant associated with formal fashion lettering rather than the narrower pace of a conventional book italic. Fine hairlines cut sharply against the dark main strokes.

In the role of a theatrical title, it can set the period for a costume drama and bring measured elegance to editorial design, fashion branding, fragrance packaging, and event posters. Publishing is its strongest setting, especially for magazine covers that benefit from the wide stance, decisive contrast, and flowing italic movement.
