RedLetter

RedLetter by Robert Schenk is a free medieval display font with a calligraphic, sign-painted attitude. The letters mix broad curved strokes with sharp arrow-tipped endings, so the alphabet feels part manuscript revival, part pub sign, with a slightly eccentric rhythm that keeps it from turning solemn.

It works well for book covers, tavern and festival posters, fantasy maps, title cards, and short branding where a little old-world drama helps set the scene. As a free font, it is most convincing in brief lines, initials, and wordmarks, where those hooked finishes and rounded forms can do the talking without needing much text.
