Old Typographic Symphony by Manfred Klein is a free blackletter dingbat font built from sharply changing strokes and medieval calligraphic forms. Hooked curves and pointed joins give the letters an unruly silhouette.

In publishing, it can give fantasy book covers and historical magazine features the look of hand-cut display lettering. The same theatrical shapes also suit metal music posters and game title screens, where the alphabet can become part of a dark medieval setting.
