Hommage à Escher v2, designed by Tibor Lantos of FSI FontShop International, is a free geometric blackletter display font built from impossible-looking beams. Alternating faces and striped edges give every letter a carved, three-dimensional structure.
Its optical-art construction is especially apt for puzzle games and science-fiction posters. The severe medieval silhouettes also suit album covers and experimental publishing. Against tessellations or architectural illustration, the lettering can become part of the same spatial trick.
