Hohenzollern Schriftart

Hohenzollern, designed by A. Fahrenwald for Bauersche Giesserei in Frankfurt, is a free Gothic display font with a severe medieval cast. Its tall, narrow letters combine knife-edged serifs with abrupt curves and strongly changing stroke widths. Deep notches and pointed joins give the lettering an engraved, almost architectural silhouette.

Publishing is its clearest setting, particularly for historical fiction covers and dramatic chapter openings. The same dark, formal shapes suit theater posters and heraldic event material, especially when the subject draws on courts, castles, or dynastic history. For heritage branding, those sharp crowns form a convincing period emblem.
