Gandhi Sans Italic, designed by Cristobal Henestrosa and Raul Plancarte with David Kimura and Gabriela Varela for Librerias Gandhi, is a free humanist sans serif with a forward lean, gently changing stroke widths, and broad, open forms. Its curves look fluid rather than mechanically slanted.

Editorial spreads and book covers benefit from its literate, unforced movement, and the same lively slant gives cultural campaigns and bookstore signage an approachable institutional voice. Across those settings, the lettering can become a clear, recurring visual directional device, with its sloped capitals and sweeping lowercase forms echoing arrows, page turns, or paths through a shop.
