Fontana Schriftart

Fontana by Neale Davidson of Pixel Sagas is a free condensed sans serif with a forceful, poster-sized silhouette. Its tall, tightly drawn letters combine broad vertical strokes, softly rounded corners, occasional squared shoulders, and unusually small enclosed spaces that make the forms look compressed under pressure.

Its retro-futurist character suits science-fiction posters and electronic music artwork, where the dense lettering can suggest machinery or oversized control-panel labels. Arcade and streetwear branding also benefit from its blunt proportions. In editorial design, Fontana is especially convincing for magazine cover lines or section openers devoted to technology, gaming, and speculative culture.

Fontana is based on the Pocket Books titling used for Star Trek novels during the 1970s and most of the 1980s. It includes accented characters, extended punctuation, the euro symbol, and bold and italic versions. The font is named after DC Fontana, a Star Trek author.
