Darkwood by Otto Maurer is a free decorative display font shaped like a thicket of twisted trunks, bare branches, and sharp offshoots, with tall, irregular silhouettes. Its uneven letters have rough, knotted edges.

It can turn a title into part of a haunted woodland scene, making it especially apt for horror posters, fantasy game graphics, and Halloween event materials. The creeping twigs and rootlike projections also suit dark-folklore book covers and packaging built around forests, witches, or uneasy fairy tales.
