Burtonesque by Christoph Windmueller of FontStruct is a free gothic display font with extremely narrow, skeletal letters. Long vertical strokes, needle-like points, and angular joins give the lettering a severe, hand-cut silhouette reminiscent of wrought iron.
Its theatrical Gothic manner fits horror posters and dark fantasy book covers. The repeated spikes can also turn music packaging or Halloween event graphics into part of the genre imagery, echoing twisted gates, bare branches, and antique lettering.
