Bluelmin Ralph Schriftart

Bluelmin Ralph by Paulo W is a free calligraphic script with tall, looping strokes and a remarkably light touch. Its narrow letters lean into generous curls and extended joins, giving the writing an airy, slightly eccentric signature style.

Boutique fashion and independent music are natural markets for its intimate manner, especially in beauty branding, invitations, and album covers. The fine line has an expressive, unpolished movement. Those oversized loops can also become a recurring ribbon-like motif across packaging, linking the lettering directly to decorative borders and flourishes.

Bluelmin Ralph is based on the scripts of Charles Bluemlein, a penman and calligrapher best known for producing a series of script alphabets for the Higgins Ink Company of Brooklyn, New York. These scripts were published in Script and Manuscript Lettering in the 1940s.

Bluemlein was one of the last members of the North American penmanship tradition of the golden era. This font and its companion fonts form a series based on a free interpretation of his scripts. The series uses the name Bluelmin rather than Bluemlein.

The OpenType version includes six additional glyphs accessible through the glyph palette or the Contextual Alternate OpenType feature. The Special Set 01 feature provides alternative designs for the Q, A, and Z glyphs.
