JLSDataGothic-CNC Schriftart

JLS Data Gothic-CNC, designed by James Stirling and the Fontry, is a free techno display font with tall, tightly drawn lettering. Rounded rectangular forms dominate, but clipped joins and angular roof-like shapes give the design a precise machine-cut edge.

Industrial technology is its clearest territory, making it useful for machinery branding, electronics packaging, and science-fiction game graphics. The repeated softened corners and squared openings also suit event posters and interface titles, where the lettering can echo control panels and fabricated parts.

JLS Space was the creator’s first computer-format font. It included uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and basic punctuation. Mike Adkins recovered the font file from a failing hard drive and sent it to the creator, who then began developing Data Gothic and completed the project nearly twenty years after it was started.
